Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s cavalry stopped and gave way to an ambulance here, an official said on Friday.
Traffic DCP Subhash Chandra Shakya on Friday said the incident took place near Raj Bhavan on Thursday, as the chief minister’s cavalry was moving from Hazratganj to Bandariyabagh.
An ambulance was stopped along with other vehicles to allow the Chief Minister’s cavalry to pass, he added.
“As soon as he (Mr Adityanath) saw the ambulance stopped to facilitate the movement of his cavalry, he asked his security personnel to stop at the roadside and let the ambulance go,” an official said.
Bhaskar Singh, a resident of the Madiaon area of Lucknow, who rode a motorcycle and stopped there, said, “It was a good humanitarian signal on the part of Chief Minister Yogi. Everyone waiting for the cavalry to pass was seen praising him.”
