New Delhi:

The Smiths have closed the ranks after a blow that was heard around the world at the Oscars. The 94th Academy Awards became Will Smith’s special – he slapped presenter Chris Rock and then won the Best Actor award minutes later. On social media, blame has been placed on both sides; Twitter agrees on this – violence doesn’t matter but Chris Rock is out of line (he’s joking about the bald head of Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett – more below). However, Jada’s son, Jaden, did not do any shots. “And that’s the way we do it,” the 23 -year -old actor tweeted. He wasn’t referring to the blow – but he didn’t have to.

Chris Rock didn’t see the blow come when he made a simple joke about Jada Pinkett being in the movie GI Jane – the satire refers to her bald head which is the result of an alopecia medical condition. Jada’s eye gaze in response to Chris’s joke seems to be just a reaction from Smith’s desk – until Will storms onto the stage and lands one on the presenter. “Keep my wife’s name out of your damn king’s mouth,” he shouted, returning to his seat.

Clearly stunned, Chris Rock said, “Will Smith smacked the s ** t out of me” – it soon proved that the moment wasn’t fully written. “What I missed,” host Amy Schumer said later, in an effort to recall that dramatic moment. “Will and Chris, we’re going to settle it like a family,” said post -Chris Rock presenter Sean Combs.

Minutes later, Will Smith won Best Actor for his performance in King Richard |, used his words to apologize. “I want to apologize to the academy. I want to apologize to all my nominee friends … The art of imitating life. I look like a crazy father like they say about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things,” the aged actor said. 53 years old while crying. He also revealed what Best Actor nominee Denzel Washington had said to him in a previous commercial break: “Thank you Denzel, who said to me a few minutes ago … he said,‘ at your highest moment, be careful, when that’s what the devil came for you. ‘”

“The Academy does not allow violence in any form,” read a brief statement tweeted by the Academy of Film Arts and Sciences. The Los Angeles Police Department also said in a statement that Chris Rock has declined to file a police complaint.

In other things that happened at the Oscars – CODA won Best Picture, Best Screenplay Adaptation and Best Supporting Actress for Troy Kotsur, Jane Campioin became the third woman to win Best Director (for Dog Power) and dunes won six awards.
