The startup Licious Unicorn, which sells meat products and seafood, said on Tuesday it had raised $ 150 million (about $ 1.14 billion) to grow a financing business run by Singapore-based Amansa Capital.

Other major investors in the F2 series financing round are Kotak PE and Axis Growth Avenues AIF – I. Existing investors also took part in the round, along with major angel investors such as Zerodha’s Nithin & Nikhil Kamath, BoAt’s Aman Gupta and partner Haresh Chawla. , True North.

This round of revenue comes 6 months after the company became the country’s first D2C (direct consumer) unicorn, Licious said in a statement.

The funds raised through the F2 series will help to invest in technological intervention that will help develop the category and improve the overall customer experience.

The company will also invest in strategic purchasing and expanding the brand’s reach.

“Today, Licious is India’s most esteemed D2C startup. This valuation is a direct result of the value we have created for our stakeholders – investments in building the category have brought us rich dividends and boosted the company’s growth. And its people,” said Vive Gupta and Abhay Hanjura, Licious co-founders.

In July 2021, Licious raised $ 192 million in the Series F funding round.

In October 2021, the company was valued at $ 52 million after receiving $ 1 billion in financing.
