Ballet star Artyom Datsishin has been killed in a Russian military operation in Eastern Europe.
Datsishin died on Thursday from injuries sustained in Russian bombings a week earlier. The 43-year-old People reported on the news portal after obtaining information from Evening Standard.
Datsishin was the principal dancer of the Ukrainian National Opera. He was cremated in Kiev on Friday.
A few days ago, Ukraine said goodbye to actress Oksana Shvets, who was killed in a Russian rocket attack on a residential building in the capital.
On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine in response to requests for assistance from refugees fleeing the Donetsk and Luhansk republics to counter attacks by Ukrainian troops. Russia’s Defense Ministry says the special operation is aimed solely at Ukraine’s military infrastructure.
According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, nearly 600 civilians have been killed and more than 1,000 injured in Ukraine since the conflict began.
