Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said the toll booth was illegal and should not be active
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced that all toll booths, which are active within 60 kilometers of any other toll booth, will be closed within the next three months. Gadkari made this announcement at the Lok Sabha while responding to the Grant Claim for the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for 2022-23. The Union Minister said that there should be no toll collection point within 60 kilometers of the two toll booths on the National Highway. However, there are such toll booths that are currently active, and Gadkari has assured that these illegal toll centers will be closed soon.

Speaking about this toll booth, Gadkari said, “What happened was wrong and illegal. I assure you that in the next three months, within 60 km, there will only be one toll collection center, if there is a second , we’re going to shut it down. come down. Just because we (the government) get money from them, doesn’t mean the people have to suffer. “

A user pointed out that there are three toll plazas between Talapady and Kundapura on National Highway 66 for a distance of about 90 km.
