South African test players such as Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi have chosen to play IPL in the home Test series in Bangladesh from 31 March. The series begins with three ODIs scheduled for March 18, 20 and 23, where star players will be available. Earlier, most South African players were expected to miss the first week of the IPL on March 26 due to national commitments. ESPNCricinfo reported that Rabada, Ngidi and Marco Jansen will miss the tests to be available for IPL from the start.
Jansen was shocked by the home series against India as the Sunrisers bought the Hyderabad at an IPL auction while Punjab secured Rabad’s services. Ngidi will replace Delhi Capitals.
Question marks remain on Anrich Nortje’s availability due to fitness issues. He was one of the players attached to Delhi Capitals.

Test pattern Dean Elgar called the IPL-linked players a “test of loyalty.”
However, it is understood that the high brass BCCI needs to turn to its opponents in the CSA in order to reach a middle ground solution.
