Satellite images show fires across the Ukrainian city after the Russian attacks

While Russia and Ukraine are in talks to ease tensions, a U.S. private company released a series of high-resolution satellite images showing Russia’s latest developments in a military attack on its neighbor, saying it is the largest attack on a European state. Since World War II.

The latest satellite images from Maxar Technologies show additional damage in the southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol. Fires continue to burn across the city and many high-rise apartment buildings have been damaged or destroyed in Russian bombings.

Several homes and buildings were on fire and severe damage was seen throughout the village of Moschun, northwest of Kiev, according to the latest satellite images.
More than 160 civilian cars are being evacuated from the besieged southeastern city by a humanitarian evacuation route, city officials said.

The successful evacuation comes after several failed attempts by Russian forces surrounding the port city of the Sea of Azov.

Nearly 2,200 people have been killed, and Russia’s heavy bombardment has left 400,000 people without water, leaving them without adequate heating and food.
More than 2.8 million people have fled the war in Ukraine, according to the UN refugee agency, which has described World War II as the largest exodus of refugees from Europe since World War II.
UNICEF says more than a million children have fled Ukraine in search of safety and protection.
