Congress today attacked the Center over rising gasoline and diesel prices, and said that the “shameless acts” of the public must be stopped. The party also announced that they will protest on March 31 against the increase in fuel prices.
“On March 31 at 11am- people will protest outside their homes and public places with garlanded gas cylinders and drum bells, another instrument to draw the attention of the BJP government which is deaf to the insurmountable rise in gas, petrol and diesel prices ., “Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala said today.
Criticizing the BJP government, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said, “The king is getting ready for the palace, while the people are reeling under inflation.”
Petrol and diesel prices were raised by 80 paise per liter each on Saturday, the fourth increase in five days as oil firms conveyed to consumers rising raw material costs.
