This tweet from Rajasthan Royals angered its captain Sanju Samson
Just a day before the start of IPL 2022, the Rajasthan Royals found themselves in a rather difficult situation off the field. The franchise’s social media team decided to post a caricature of team captain Sanju Samson, as part of its campaign to engage fans. But this is not in line with Samson, who uses Twitter to express his frustration. “It’s ok for friends to do all this but the team must be professional. @rajasthanroyals“Samson wrote on Twitter,
While it was initially hard to understand whether this was part of a prank between the team and its captain, things became clear after the franchise deleted the tweet.

In an initial tweet, the Royals had posted a photo of Samson on the team bus and had painted a hat and sunglasses on him with the caption “Kya khoob lagte ho …” with a laugh emoji.
After Samson expressed his displeasure, the franchise used social media and posted an official announcement in which it mentioned that it would review its digital strategy and appoint a new social media team soon.
“Based on today’s events, we will make changes to our approach and team on social media. Everything is in the squad ahead of the first game as players prepare for SRH. Management will review our overall digital strategy and appoint new team players in time “We are aware that this is IPL season and fans want the account to post regular updates. We will be looking for a temporary solution for the time being,” the statement added.
