Congressman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is holding a meeting to discuss the decimation of the politically crucial party in Uttar Pradesh. The 20-year-old was put in charge of Uttar Pradesh shortly after joining politics, and took charge of building the party from the ground up. Four years later, despite running a tense “Ladki hoon lad sakti hoon” (I’m a girl and I can fight) campaign, the party has only won two seats in the state, less than seven in 2017. it was reduced to 2.5 per cent.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Secretary-General is in the party’s war room on Gurdwara Rakabganj Road in Delhi. He is chairing a meeting, which is being attended by top party state leaders.

Meeting Gandhi Vadra presented the report on the failure of the five states where the election was held and held two days later at a meeting of the Labor Committee, the main decision-making body of the party.

At the meeting, his mother and Sonia Gandhi, the party’s interim leader, offered to resign in the wake of the tragic failure. The offer was not accepted and it was decided to hold party elections after the parliamentary budget session.

Congress has not ruled Uttar Pradesh since 1989 and over the years it has steadily lost its place in the state. In the 2019 general election, Rahul Gandhi lost the bastion of Amethi’s family to BJP’s Smriti Iran.

Amethi was one of the last two strongholds of Congress, the other being Raebarili of Sonia Gandhi.

This time, after the disastrous results of Akhilesh Yadav’s connection to the Samajwadi Party, Congress had to go it alone in the elections. He eventually lost five of the seven seats the party had.
