Petrol Rates Raised Again. See Rates

Gasoline prices today: Fuel rates are raised across four meters

Petrol, Diesel Prices Today: Fuel prices were raised on Saturday, April 2, 2022 by 80 paise each across four meters. This is the 10th increase in prices since it was first raised on March 22, ending a four-and-a-half-month freeze since November 4, 2021.

In the last 12 days, the price of petrol has gone up by Rs 7.20 per liter. Petrol in the capital is now priced at Rs 102.61 per liter, while diesel rates have increased from Rs 93.07 per liter to Rs 93.87, according to a price notification issued by the state fuel retailer.

Rates have been raised nationwide and vary from state to state depending on local tax incidents.

Fuel prices remained unchanged on Friday, April 1, 2022 after rising for eight consecutive days.

Here are the prices of petrol and diesel in all metro cities:

Prior to the hike that started on March 22, fuel prices had been frozen since November 4, 2021 for a record 137 days. During this period, assembly elections were held in politically important states namely Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and even Manipur.

Also during this period, the price of crude oil increased by $ 30 per barrel, yet the price remained unchanged in the country.

Government-owned oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum review fuel rates on a daily basis, taking into account the price of crude oil in the international market, and the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.

India is 85 per cent dependent on imports to meet its oil needs and domestic petrol and diesel prices are linked to international rates.

Meanwhile, on April 1, Brent crude futures fell 32 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $ 104.39 a barrel as US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell $ 1.01, or 1 percent, to $ 99.27.

This is mainly due to members of the International Energy Agency (IEA) agreeing to participate in the production of the largest U.S. oil reserves ever.

On March 31, US President Joe Biden announced crude oil production of one million barrels per day (bpd) for six months beginning in May 2022.
