Alex Carey had a disappointing performance with the batsman during Australia’s first ODI against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, on Tuesday. Carey was only able to make four runs out of four balls, before losing his wicket to Zahid Mahmood in a dramatic way. In the second pass in the 40th minute, Carey received a full throw and tried to sweep upside down but he failed to connect when the ball drifted around his feet and crushed the stump.

Travis Head was in top form during the Australian round and broke 101 runs from just 72 balls. The opener also hammered 12 four fours and three maximums.
Meanwhile, Ben McDermott also showed good shot form and recorded 55 runs from 70 balls, made up of four fours.
Cameron Green was unbeaten on 40 runs from 30 balls as Australia recorded 313 for seven in 50 overs, setting a target of 314 runs for Pakistan.
Haris Rauf and Mahmood were in good bowling performance for Pakistan and each took two wickets.
In their chase, Imam-ul-Haq scored a good century for Pakistan, but it wasn’t enough when Australia recorded a fantastic 88-run win, beating the hosts by 225.
The spinner shone for Australia with the ball when Adam Zampa claimed four scalps and Mitchell Swepson and Travis Head each took two wickets.
Having won the previous 1-0 Test series, Australia have taken a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.
