“Nothing to prove here”: Hardik Pandya in the inaugural IPL season of the Gujarat Titans

India’s Hardik Pandya is set to become the world leader in the Gujarat Titans in the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This will be the leader of a Hardik IPL franchise and cricket fans will be eager to know if he is able to live up to his expectations. IPL 2022 will start on March 26, but Gujarat Titans will play its first match on March 28.

Ahead of the tournament, Hardik explained Pandya’s hopes for the season and how he sees Gujarat.

“I’m quite happy with the team, it’s a new team. Honestly, we’re not here to prove anything, we’re here to play good cricket. We’re here to make the environment right and get players. There’s no hope, we’ll be a team that will continue to improve.” , Hardik said in a video posted on IPL’s official Twitter handle.

Hardik has spent some time on the sidelines due to injuries and also went to Cricket Academy for rehabilitation. Hardik’s last match in India was at the 2021 T20 World Cup.

“I was spending time with my family, working hard as always. Making sure I was well prepared,” Hardik said.


The Gujarat Titans are placed in Group B along with the Chennai Super Kings, SunRisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings in Group B. The franchise will play its first game of the tournament against the Lucknow Super Giants on March 28th.
