No Trust Motion Against Imran Khan Today When Pak’s Senate Sits

Imran Khan’s government needs at least 172 members to sail through a no-confidence vote.

Islamabad:

The crucial session of the Pakistan National Assembly will begin on Friday where the motion of no -confidence vote against Imran Khan will be moved.

According to the Senate Secretariat, the house will meet at 11 a.m., with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair, the Express Tribune reported.

The 15 -item agenda of the Friday session released by the Secretariat on Thursday night also includes a motion of no -confidence vote.

Notably, acting on mutual hatred to overthrow Imran Khan, the Opposition party tabled a no -confidence motion in the Senate on March 8.

In the 342-member National Assembly, Imran Khan’s government needs at least 172 members to sail through a no-confidence vote.

However, several opposition MNAs from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who ruled came out openly and government allies were reported to have sided with the Opposition, therefore, it remains to be seen if Imran Khan manages to defeat no. -movement of trust.

Further, referring to the defection of MPs, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Thursday said that not counting the votes to be given by members during the no -trust proceedings against Imran Khan was “insulting”.
