Western countries imposed sanctions on Russia over its aggression on Ukraine.

India is not considering buying oil from Russia using the Indian rupee, the Deputy Oil Minister told Parliament on Monday, after Western countries imposed sanctions on Russia over its aggression on Ukraine.
“Public sector oil efforts do not have any contracts nor such proposals are being considered from Russia or any other country for the purchase of crude oil in Indian rupees,” Assistant Oil Minister Rameswar Teli said.
