MP Arrested For Getting Loans From Financiers Linked To “D Gang”: Sena -By ASC

Navneet Rana, a former actor, is now an MP from Amravati in eastern Maharashtra

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut claimed that Lok Sabha independent Navneet Rana received a Rs 80 lakh loan from financier and filmmaker Yusuf Lakdawala, who was arrested in a money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Lakdawala, who died at Arthur Road jail here in September 2021, had links to the “D gang” (Dawood Ibrahim’s hunted gangster), Raut claimed, asking when the ED would investigate this aspect.

Local BJP leader Mohit Kamboj tried to oppose Raut by posting on Twitter a picture of Lakdawala with NCP chief Sharad Pawar and the late Rajiv Gandhi.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Raut also wondered whether there was an “underground world connection” with the political controversy over Hanuman Chalisa’s readings, similar to the 1993 Mumbai series explosions.

He claimed the BJP tried to rescue Navneet Rana, who was arrested by Mumbai police on Saturday along with her MLA husband Ravi Rana after the couple announced that they would recite Hanuman Chalisa outside the private residence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray ‘Matoshree’ here.

The Rana people eventually canceled their plans, but were arrested on various offenses under the Indian Penal Code including sedition and `promoting hostility between different groups. ‘ “Navneet Rana got a LOAN of ₹ 80 lacs from Yusuf Lakdawala who died in Prison rcntly. The same Lakdawala was arrested by @dir_ed in a money laundering case & has something to do with gang D. My question is- Has the ED investigated this matter? Ths is a national security quest! ” Raut tweeted late Tuesday night, while marking the Office of the Prime Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis.

On Wednesday, Raut in another tweet said, “The underground world connection. Lakdawala was arrested by ED in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case and died in a lockup. Yusuf’s money laundering is now in Rana’s account. When will the ED serve tea to Rana “Why was D-Gang saved? Why is BJP silent?” On Tuesday night, Raut had also tweeted a picture, allegedly of the financial statements of Navneet Rana, a former actor who is now a member of parliament from Amravati in eastern Maharashtra, showing a Rs 80 lakh loan from Lakdawala.

On Wednesday, BJP leader Mohit Kamboj sought to counter Raut by tweeting a picture of Lakdawala allegedly with the late former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, the late Congress leader Vilasrao Deshmukh and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, among others.

“Everyone in front of Dawood Ibrahim together?” Kamboj asked, marking Raut.
