Mai: Netflix Reveals Trailer, April Release Date, Poster for Sakshi Tanwar Web Series

Mai – Netflix’s next Indian web series, led by Sakshi Tanwar – is coming up on April 15, and we now have a trailer. Vivek Mushran, Wamiqa Gabbi, Anant Vidhaat, Raima Sen, Ankur Ratan, Prashant Narayan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Seema Pahwa co -starred in Mai. Located in Wazirganj Uttar Pradesh, Mai follows his tame 47 -year -old wife and mother Sheel (Tanwar) after he began digging into the death of his daughter Supriya Chaudhary (Gabbi). As Sheel learns things he never imagined, his investigation takes him into the world of white -collar crime and dirty politics. Is Sheel over his head – or will he take like a fish to water as he dives into the rabbit’s terror hole?

“At the heart of this series is the Chaudhary family of two siblings who live in an adjoining house in the same colony, with their spouses and children. Sheel, our protagonist, is the wife of a younger brother. She lives and breathes for her immediate family and extended family, making sure the whole house runs like a well -served machine, ”creator, writer, and presenter Mai Atul Mongia said in a prepared statement. Mongia made his directing debut with the new Netflix India series. Anshai Lal (Phillauri) also directed the episode. Mongia is a writer in Mai alongside Tamal Sen (Zee5’s Kaali), and Amita Vyas (The Fame Game).

“Yet, through the twists and turns of fate and strange choices, Sheel is thrown deep into the world of crime,” Mongia added. “The series became incredibly dramatic, yet very relevant, because at least in the beginning, she still remained a humble and modest mother. Just like my mother. And maybe yours too. The protagonist Mai has my own mother’s maiden name, not to forget who ‘Sheel Chaudhary’ really is. Mai, taking the concept of a homely, caring, traditional Indian mother of Indian television and Hindi cinema and opposing the real existence of the Machiavellian world out there, forced her and us to challenge our belief systems. ”

Mai is the production of Clean Slate Filmz, banners of actress Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Ssharma, who previously gave us Bulbbul on Netflix, and Paatal Lok on Amazon Prime Video. Unlike the two projects, Karnesh is the sole producer in Mai. Paatal creator Lok Sudip Sharma is an executive producer in Mai alongside Mongia, Lal and Ssharma.

“We are excited to bring this story to the world through Netflix, which has been a great partner to us with Bulbbul and now, with Mai,” Ssharma said in a prepared statement. “Mai tells a gripping and touching story about the journey of a strong mother. Sheel is a multi-faceted character, who struggles to overcome everything and everyone in her way to avenge her daughter, while holding on to her weaknesses, allowing the audience to connect and relate to her in a more meaningful way. Viewers will witness a highly layered narrative full of twists and turns, showcasing how far a mother will go for love and search for truth. ”

Netflix India series head Tanya Bami added: “Mai is a well -known Netflix series that brings together defining storytelling, nuanced performances, and journeys that deeply evoke the thoughts of a mother involved with crime and criminals. Set in a fascinating world, Mai brings together everything that our audience loves and enjoys. An engaging and sensitively handled storyline created by Atul Mongia, a thriller -style crime drama produced by Clean Slate Filmz and one of the greatest performances ever seen by Sakshi Tanwar which is Mai’s headline. “

Here is the official synopsis for Mai from Netflix:

Sheel’s world collapses when she witnesses a personal tragedy. Ordinary wives and mothers who were once tame and ordinary are placed under extraordinary circumstances in an effort to uncover the truth. All of Mai’s episodes come out on April 15 on Netflix in India and around the world.
