The latest satellite images from Mariupol Ukraine show significant damage caused by airstrikes at the Drama Theater.
Images released by Maxar show significant damage in and around the building. The building was attacked on Thursday as it housed thousands of refugees. Ukraine has accused Russia of carrying out airstrikes, though Moscow has denied the attacks.
The bomb shelter under the theater survived the impact and no one was killed in the attack, city authorities said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said 130 people had been rescued after the bombing, but hundreds were still under rubble.
The strike at the theater drew international condemnation.
Satellite images of the theater taken earlier this week before it was hit show a large structure with a red roof and the Russian word for “children” painted in large white letters on tar on the front and back.
