KKR vs PBKS: Tim Southee Becomes First New Zealand Bowler To Achieve Big T20 Achievement

Tim Southee was in the red hot action in the Kolkata Knight Riders match against the Punjab Kings on Friday as the veteran New Zealand paceman took over the opening shot of Shikhar Dhawan and big striker Shahrukh Khan to shock opponents. Umesh Yadav is the bowler’s choice with 4 wickets. Southee took over Dhawan’s crucial goal, who could play a key role for Punjab.

The Kiwi star achieved a huge personal achievement when he sent back Shahrukh Khan for a duck when he became the first bowler from New Zealand to complete 250 wickets in T20 cricket.

Southee’s new football partner in the New Zealand team, Trent Boult, has yet to pass the 200 -wicket mark in T20 cricket but players like Mitchell McClenaghan and others are in the chase pack.

Kolkata Knight Riders used Twitter to celebrate the Blackcaps star’s achievement.

“Southee Express is unstoppable !!!! What an incredible achievement,” was the caption they used.

Southee has also had a great career in T20 international competition and is currently the second -highest wicket contender with 111 scalps in 92 games, 8 behind record holder Shakib Al Hasan.


Southee finished with a 2/36 score in the match against the Punjab Kings, who conceded for 137.
