Jason Roy Suspended Two -Match Suspension By England Cricket Board

England striker Jason Roy has been handed a two -match suspended international suspension, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Tuesday. “The disciplinary panel of the Cricket Disciplinary Commission has announced its sanction on Jason Roy after he admitted charges of behaving in a manner that may be detrimental to the interests of cricket or that could bring the game of cricket, the ECB and himself into disrepute,” the ECB said. Details of the offense have not been disclosed.

Roy, who helped England win a 50-over World Cup in 2019, was suspended from his country’s next two matches for which he was eligible to be selected but the ban will be suspended for 12 months depending on good behavior.

The 31 -year -old was also fined 2,500 pounds ($ 3,300).

Roy, who is expected to be on England’s T20 World Cup squad in Australia later this year, recently announced he was taking an “unlimited break” from cricket, which means he missed the Indian Premier League.
