As part of its new global strategy, JLR will launch the first innovation hub of its kind in the UK
Jaguar Land Rover, a British brand owned by Tata Motors India, has announced the introduction of a new Open Innovation strategy, to accelerate next -generation technology and sustainability in support of its modern luxury vision. With this initiative, the company plans to form new partnerships with new companies, large corporations and like -minded external organizations. The company aims to collaborate in the areas of electrification, connectivity, digital services, metaverse, smart enterprises, manufacturing, supply chain and sustainability. As part of its new global strategy, JLR will launch the first innovation hub of its kind in the UK, in collaboration with platform and corporate innovation investor, Plug and Play.

Commenting on the announcement, Francois Dossa, Executive Director, Strategy and Sustainability, Jaguar Land Rover, said, “With the launch of the Open Innovation platform, Jaguar Land Rover is looking at the entire mobility and sustainability ecosystem to offer an unrivaled customer experience, shaping the future of the industry us, and pave the way into the future. We’ll explore everything from second -life batteries and round -the -clock economy to new fintech, insurtech and digital services – all in line with Jaguar Land Rover as a proud creator of Modern Luxury. “

The announcement is part of Reimagine Jaguar Land Rover’s strategy, in which the carmaker aims to become “the world’s most coveted luxury vehicle creator for the most discerning customers”. Working with innovators and sector experts, the Open Innovation program will help businesses identify digital services, products, tools and processes to achieve their goal of net zero by 2039, while creating new value chains for businesses. The UK collaboration will be in addition to two separate partnerships with Cubo Itau and Firjan, which will provide the carmaker access to new companies in the Latin American market.

The automaker said that it wants to create an ecosystem of start -up and upgrade companies that will create jobs and opportunities for the digital economy. And platforms like the Open Innovation Strategy will also provide access to a global ecosystem of potential partners, enabling organizations to test new technologies and business models. The event will be located near Jaguar Land Rover’s headquarters in the West Midlands.
To enable Open Innovation JLR has appointed 70+ ‘champions’ from across key business areas – including sustainability, engineering, design, research and manufacturing – who will be at the forefront of driving strategy.
