The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 took place on Saturday evening with a match between Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders. CSK Ravindra Jadeja may have suffered a defeat, but versatile Dwayne Bravo managed to match Lasith Malinga’s big record in the tournament and the World Cup -winning T20 footballer had just one more wicket left to become the top scorer in the tournament. Bravo managed to take three wickets against KKR and in the process equaled the collection of former Mumbai Indian player, Lasith Malinga, 170 wickets in the IPL. As a result, Bravo along with Malinga are now the highest joint wickets in the history of the cash-rich league.

The former West Indies versatile player equaled Malinga’s total in his 151st match in the IPL. Malinga has ended his career for Mumbai Indians after taking 170 wickets from 122 matches.

Malinga is currently the speed bowling coach of the Rajasthan Royals.

Amit Mishra has 166 wickets in the IPL while Piyush Chawla is the fourth highest wicket taker as he has 157 head shots to his name.

In the match between CSK and KKR, the latter won the throw and chose to do bowling first. Umesh Yadav returned with two wickets when KKR limited CSK to 131/5. MS Dhoni played an unbeaten knockout of 50 runs.

KKR then chased the target fairly easily with six wickets in hand and nine balls remaining. Ajinkya Rahane is the top scorer for KKR after playing 44 runs.

KKR will next face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday while CSK will face Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday.
