Indian Exports Reach $ 400 Billion For The First Time

The $ 400 billion target was reached nine days ahead of schedule.

India has achieved an ambitious goods export target of $ 400 billion ahead of schedule for financial years 2021-22 (as of March 22, 2022). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated farmers, weavers, SMEs (small businesses), manufacturers and exporters on the success.
“India has set an ambitious export target of $ 400 billion and achieved this target for the first time. I congratulate farmers, weavers, SMEs, manufacturers, exporters on this success. This is a milestone in our Aatmanirbhar Bharat journey,” Perdana said. Minister tweeted.

The $ 400 billion target was reached nine days ahead of schedule with an average of $ 1 billion of goods exported each day.
Each year, that figure jumps 37 percent from $ 292 billion in 2020-21.
