Indian-American Puneet Talwar has been named Morocco’s new US ambassador


U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Friday that American Indian Puneet Talwar would become ambassador to Morocco as part of some important appointments to his administration, the White House press release said.

Other appointments included Candace Bond as Ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Timmy Davis as Qatar State Ambassador, Nasser Paydar as Assistant Secretary of Secondary Education, Department of Education and Michael Lombardo as a member of the National Arts Council. .

Puneet Talwar has held senior positions in national security and foreign policy in the State Department, the White House and the United States Senate. He is currently the Chief Adviser of the State Department.

He has previously served as Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, Special Assistant to the President and Director General of the National Security Council, and Senior Professional of the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Mr. Talwar’s public service also includes key roles in the U.S. House of Representatives and the State Department’s Policy Planning Staff.

Outside the government, he has been a senior fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute, a visiting fellow at the University of Pennsylvania at Penn Biden Center, a consultant to the Inter Mediate Dispute Resolution NGO, and a non-resident fellow at Georgetown University. Security Studies.

Mr. Talwar holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cornell University and a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Council and a native of Washington.
