India said on Tuesday that leaders of other Quad member states understood its position on the Russian conflict in Ukraine when they met in Tokyo.
“There is a general and good appreciation of the position that India has taken with respect to Ukraine,” India’s foreign secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra told reporters in the Japanese capital.
He said India wanted hostilities and diplomacy as well as dialogue to be stopped immediately to resolve the crisis. India is the only member of the Quad – which also includes the United States, Japan and Australia – that has not condemned Russia’s actions.
