In the Case of Aryan Khan, the Agency Missed the 6 Month Deadline, Wanted 3 More

Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, spent 22 days in jail over the case.

New Delhi:

Towards the end of the six -month deadline to draft charges against Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drug case on the voyage, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today sought more time to build on its case, saying its investigation was still ongoing on.

The agency, in its confession, cited hostile key witnesses as one of the reasons for its request to extend the deadline for another 90 days. The agency is supposed to hand over the charge sheet on April 2 (Saturday).

In its application before special judge VV Patil filed on Monday, the investigating agency said the material seized in the drug case on the voyage, in which Aryan Khan was “Accused No. 1”, was narcotics under the jurisdiction of NDPS Act.

The investigating agency further stated that some of the “very influential” accused had had conversations with foreigners who were outside India as well. Chat is still under scrutiny because foreigners are involved, the anti -drug agency said.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country from November 2021 to February 2022, feedback has been delayed from foreign agencies, the acknowledgment said.

Although the agency’s appeal did not name Aryan Khan, it was during the court hearing that the Bollywood superstar’s son was in contact with several people who appeared to be part of an international drug network for drug procurement.

“During the preliminary investigation, several international links related to this applicant (Aryan Khan) were dug up, which pointed prima facie towards the procurement of illicit drugs. The investigation requires sufficient time to approach the foreign agency concerned,” NCB said in an earlier affidavit opposing Aryan guarantee.

While looking for time to file the charge sheet, NCB in its confession claimed that the investigation was almost complete in relation to the six accused as their roles were interrelated and interrelated.

The six accused are Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Satija Abdul Kadar Chinedu Igwe and Okoro Uzeoma, he said.

Examination and recording of the voluntary statement of KP Gosavi, a key witness during the two restorations made on October 2, 2021, was incomplete, as he was under judicial custody in another case.

The second witness – Prabhakar Sail – has turned hostile and the alleged affidavit in the case is still pending before the court, the agency said. Therefore, in such circumstances, Gosavi’s examination becomes necessary and important to unearth the true and correct facts of the case, he added.

The case involved 20 accused, from different parts of the country, and due to limited public movement during the third wave of the outbreak, many accused did not show up for timely investigation, resulting in unintentional delays, the confession said.

Of the 20 accused detained in the case, two are in judicial custody, while the rest, including Aryan, are on bail.

Aryan Khan was named as the accused in the case along with 19 others by the NCB last year.

The 24 -year -old was arrested by the NCB on October 3, following a raid on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.
