ICC Women’s World Cup Update Points Schedule: India Maintain Semi -Final Hopes

The Indian team led by Mithali Raj bounced back towards victory in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup on Tuesday when the team thrashed Bangladesh by 110 runs at Seddon Park, Hamilton. With this win, India have maintained their hopes of advancing to the semi -finals and now the team only needs to win the final group match against South Africa on Sunday. If the Proteas are beaten by India, the last four places will be sealed for the 2017 World Cup finalists.

In the match between India and Bangladesh, the former won the throw and chose to hit first. Yastika Bhatia scored for half a century as India recorded 229/7 in 20 overs allotted. Shafali Verma also managed to do 42 strokes.


India then backed up the show with a spirited bowling show and finally. For India, Sneh Rana returned with four wickets as the Bangladeshi batsman crumbled under pressure from an Indian bowling attack.

Earlier on Tuesday, Australia maintained their winning record in the competition after handing South Africa a defeat by five wickets. Meg Lanning scored 135 unbeaten as Australia chased down 272 with five wickets in hand.
