Ashast Gehlot, Rajasthan’s chief minister, joined the League of Congress leaders on Tuesday for statements against his colleague Kapil Sibal, saying he was not a “man of Congress culture.”
“Kapil Sibal is not a person of Congress culture. He is a famous advocate who has joined Congress. Sonia ji and Rahul ji have given him a lot of opportunities. to the agency.
Earlier, speaking to reporters in Jaipur, he described Mr Sibal’s comments as “unfortunate” and said: “At a time when the party is losing the election, the leaders should unite.”
He said Congress was the only party that could fight the BJP and praised Rahul Gandhi for taking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Those who are talking about ending the Congress party will end it themselves. Congress is the party of years and our leaders have made the highest sacrifices before and after Independence,” he said.
Mr. Sibal wrote a letter to party leader Sonia Gandhi two years ago, a member of the 23 or “G-23” group, saying he was concerned about reducing the party’s fortunes in the election and calling for profound changes. Gandhi should step down and allow another leader to lead the party after the riots in last week’s state election.
“Leadership is on the ground … I want ‘Sab ki Congress’. Some people want ‘Ghar ki Congress’,” Mr Sibal told The Indian Express in an interview.
The statements came after a meeting of the Congressional Labor Committee on Sunday, and after nearly five hours of discussion, Sonia Gandhi asked him to continue and drive the changes needed to strengthen the party.
The CWC also rejected Gandhi’s offer to resign, along with her children Rahul and Priyanka, and believed in her leadership.
Because of his criticism of the Gandhi family, Mr. Sibal has been severely attacked by his party.
Manickam Tagore’s party’s Lok Sabha frying pan, sincere loyalist Rahul Gandhi, accused the BJP and its ideological parent Rashtriya Swayamseva of speaking Sangh (RSS) language for Gandhia to be out of the leadership post to kill and destroy the Congress party. The idea of India.
National Congress spokesman Pawan Khera said Mr Sibal should run in the presidential election instead of making public comments against the leadership.
“Why do the RSS and BJP want Nehru-Gandhi out of the leadership? Without Gandhi’s leadership Congress will become a Janata party. Killing Congress is easy to destroy India’s idea (sic),” Mr Tagore said on Twitter.
“Kapil Sibal knows but why he is speaking in RSS / BJP,” he said.
Mr. Khera also posted a Twitter post to Mr. Sibal.
“Dr. Harshvardhan has not asked you to side with Chandni Chowk. He fought in the election and defeated Kapil Sibal. Those who want to run Congress have the freedom to fight in the upcoming election for the party’s presidency instead of shouting daily against the current leadership.” “Kera tweeted.
