A minor girl was allegedly raped separately by her teenage brother and their father while her grandfather and uncle had also raped her, Pune Police said today, adding that the crime was committed over the past five years.
Police have registered cases under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rape and molestation but have yet to arrest anyone, an official said.
While a rape case was registered under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code against the 45-year-old girl’s brother and father, who is now 11, at a police station in Pune, her grandfather (aged around 60) and distant uncle (aged around 25 years) was charged under section 354 (Assault or criminal violence against a woman with intent to humiliate her honor), police told the Press Trust of India.
The survivor and his family members are from Bihar. They now live in Pune.
“The incident came to light when the girl opened her mouth during a ‘good touch and bad touch’ session at her school. Her bitter experience happened over the past five years,” said Ashwini Satpute, a (crime) police inspector.
The father began sexually assaulting his daughter in 2017 when they were living in Bihar, a police inspector citing the complaint said.
“The girl’s brother started sexually assaulting her around November 2020. Her grandfather and uncle had touched her inappropriately,” the police inspector said.
Inspector Satpute said, since all the incidents took place separately, the accused may not have been aware of their respective acts, it was not a case of gang rape.
A section of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) will be added, police said.
