Former MP Vijay Goel’s mobile phone was seized near the Red Fort in northern Delhi on Monday, police said.
The incident happened when Mr Goel was on his way from Daryaganj to the Red Fort, Upper Subhash Marg, they said.
At around 7.45pm, as his car approached the Jama Masjid metro station, a person approached him, picked up the phone and fled, Deputy Police Commissioner Sagar Singh Kalsi (North) said.
PSO ASI Satyavir reported the incident to police, he said.
A case has been reported at the Kotwali police station, police said.
