Chinese President Xi Jinping said he was “shocked” by the crash of a passenger plane carrying 132 people last Monday in the southwest of the country and called for an investigation into the crash, state media reported.
“We are shocked to learn of the China Eastern MU5735 crash,” national CCTV broadcaster Xi said, as he also called for “all efforts” to rescue and to find out “the cause of the crash as soon as possible”.
