Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday slammed the Uttar Pradesh government, saying “bulldozers” had started “crushing” people under the BJP rule.
The “Bulldozer” has been circulated by the BJP as a symbol of its government’s action against criminals, whose illicit property was destroyed in the previous party term.
Mocking the ruling party, Mr Yadav in a statement said, “Bulldozers have started trampling on people under the BJP rule. Inflation is increasing day by day. The government is playing on people’s lives by being insensitive and careless.” “In a democracy, such cruel treatment of the people by the ruling party is inhumane,” Yadav said.
Mr Yadav said people began to miss old age after experiencing “achche din” (good days). Slogan “achche din“was given by the BJP in the 2014 parliamentary elections.
People are frustrated with the rise in fuel prices, Mr Yadav said.
Toll taxes are also becoming expensive, making traveling on highways more expensive, he said. The price of CNG-PNG has doubled, he said.
The BJP has made it clear with its policies and intentions that it has nothing to do with public concern and is only interested in filling its coffers, Mr Yadav alleged.
