Asus intends to increase its presence in the Indian laptop market

Asus has been a well-known name in the Indian laptop market for a long time. The company is known for selling slim and high performance laptops in different shades and sizes. While the PC maker offers its ZenBook models a premium experience, it also has ROG and TUF laptops for gamers and customers who want to get cheap options for their VivoBook computer needs. Asus offers a variety of form factors, from traditional-looking laptops to 2-in-1 models. We take a look at his plans for the Indian market.

In this week’s episode of the Gadgets 360 Orbital podcast, host Akhil Arora has joined executive editor Jamshed Avari to talk to Arnold Sur of the Asus Consumer and Gaming PC for Asus India, a Taiwanese giant about how his business is doing. the country and everything it intends to bring to market in the future.

Suk told us that for Asus, India has grown much faster than other markets around the world, despite facing the challenges of COVID-19 in 2020. He points out that growth has been seen in all major segments, including games, thin and thin. -light, and 2-in-1 form factors.

In 2019, the 2-in-1 segment accounted for only four or five percent of the total Indian computer market, but in 2021 it grew by more than 10 percent, the executive warned.

Unlike the growth of segments including gaming and 2-in-1 form factor, Asus’s cheap range of laptops in India has not received much response from consumers.

Su says only 15 to 20 percent of consumers who choose sub-Rs. 40,000 models in the country. However, Asus is trying to meet the demand for cheap laptops.

“What Asus is trying to do is we know that if you want to go for the latest technology, you might have to go for the flagship model, but for most people it’s not easy to pay for that flagship model,” says Suk. “So what we’re trying to do is bring these features to the mainstream or even the entry-level segment and let the people here experience the latest technology as well.”

As for the new models that Asus intends to bring to India, Suk says that the ROG Flow Z13 and ZenBook 14X OLED Space Edition, which were unveiled at CES 2022, will be among the new offerings that will soon enter the country.
