Astronauts Share Amazing Photos of “Blood Moon” During Lunar Eclipse -By ASC

This is how the “Blood Moon” emerged from space during a lunar eclipse.

The first full moon eclipse of the year created a lot of uproar on the planet. People in some countries – mostly in South America – can see the Moon well during celestial events, while others are less fortunate.

But thousands of kilometers into outer space, on the International Space Station (ISS), astronauts were able to capture that fantastic phenomenon from zero gravity.

An image of the “Blood Moon” during the eclipse was posted on Twitter by Samantha Cristoforetti, an astronaut with the European Space Agency (ESA) on Monday.

“Happy Monday from space! Were you lucky to be able to see the lunar eclipse last night? We! ”He said in his tweet, which was retweeted by ESA.

The image shows the Moon partially visible as the Earth moves between it and the Sun during a full lunar eclipse.

In another photoThe moon is seen playing “hide-and-seek with our solar panels”, Ms Cristoforetti said.

He anchored the ISS after being sent into space aboard the SpaceX Dragon capsule on April 27th. This is his second flight to the space station.

The 45 -year -old led the team’s six -month ISS operations, becoming the first European woman to be placed in the role.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon, Earth and Sun are aligned, with the Moon passing through the shadows cast by the Earth. A full moon eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the darkest part of the Earth’s shadow, known as the umbra, according to NASA.

A full moon eclipse on the night between May 15 and 16 is not visible in India. It is seen in various parts of the world including South and North America, Antarctica, Europe, Africa, and the Eastern Pacific.

During an eclipse, the Moon appears in red, in stark contrast to the usual milky white appearance. It emits a reddish color just before the whole eclipse, which is why it is called “Blood Moon”.
