Indian chess player Pankaj Advani faced stiff competition against Pauk Sa of Myanmar in the semi -finals of the 2022 Asian Billiards Championship. In the first match, Pankaj missed out after scoring 18 points. Pauk Sa imposed a well -designed 71 -point break even though Pankaj secured the first match with a counter -break of 82 points. In the second game, Pankaj sent a century break to earn a 2-0 lead. He moved ahead with 30 points in the third frame when Pauk Sa took control and created 70 points and then visited the next balance point to reduce the deficit. This put him in a ruling position and in the next match, he made an uninterrupted century break to equalize.

However, Pankaj responded with a breakdown of 101 to take the lead but Pauk Sa made another strong comeback. He missed at 97 and Pankaj bounced back to take a 4-2 lead.

In the next two matches, Pauk Sa made a good break with 61 and 67 points to equalize to pull Pankaj into the playoffs. The deciding match was an important match for Pankaj when Pauk Sa was in all control but when he missed after 48 points, Pankaj showed his class and returned with an uninterrupted 100 point break to secure his place in the 2022 Asian Billiards finals.
