Ashleigh Barty made a surprise around the tennis world when she announced her sudden retirement at the age of 25. The tennis player announced his results just weeks after winning the Australian Open this year. The Australian has for many years gained many fans because of his calm and quiet approach on the tennis court. As a result, her sudden retirement came as a shock to 23 -time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams.

In a video posted on his Instagram account on Wednesday, Barty said that he was grateful for everything tennis had given him and he mentioned the “right” time to retire from the sport.
“Today was difficult and full of emotion for me when I announced my retirement from tennis. I was very happy, and I was very prepared and I just knew at this moment in my heart as a human being, this is right. I’m ‘I’m very grateful for all that tennis has given me, it has given me all my dreams and more. But I know the time is now right for me to step away and pursue another dream and put down a racket, “he said in the video. .
In his career, Barty has won three Grand Slam titles – the French Open in 2019, Wimbledon in 2021 and the Australian Open 2022.
Barty is also known for her cricket skills and she showed the world her nature in the Women’s Big Bash League while playing for the Brisbane Heat.
He on Thursday said that he would remove himself from the WTA rankings after announcing his retirement, and this has paved the way for Iga Swiatek of Poland to become the world number one provided he wins the Miami Open.
