Election strategist Prashant Kishor today said he had turned down an invitation from Congress to join the party. The development concludes several rounds of Mr Kishor’s talks with the Congressional leadership in the past two weeks.

Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala earlier today said party leader Sonia Gandhi had formed an “authorized action group” for the 2024 general election, and invited Mr Kishor to join the party as part of the group with assigned responsibilities. “… We appreciate his efforts and suggestions given to the party,” Mr Surjewala tweeted.
